HOLV: Firstly how's life for Elf Power at the moment?

AR: Things are going really well. We just did a big tour all over America that was really fantastic, and we're getting ready to do a lot more shows and festivals in America and Europe this summer. Then, in the fall we're releasing a collaboration album that we did with Vic Chesnutt, and we'll be touring Europe and America again with him!

HOLV: We're big fans of your latest album 'In a Cave' - how would you say it compares to your previous work?

AR: It's a very diverse record, incorporating lots of different sonic textures and styles. It's one of my favorite records that we've recorded.

HOLV: I see that you are coming to Manchester in the summer, do you have any plans to play more gigs in the UK?

AR: Yes, we'll be playing several shows in the U.K. in August. We should have the tourdates up on our website in the next few weeks.

HOLV: I see you guys toured with REM a few years ago, how much did you enjoy being on the road with them?

AR: It was great. We live in the same town and are friends with them, so we had a lot of fun doing it....they were one of the bands that originally inspired me to start playing music, so it was nice to be able to play with them many years later!

HOLV: There are a lot of great US based bands that simply don't get the exposure they deserve on this side of the Atlantic. Are there any bands you know that could well fall under this bracket?

AR: I'm not real sure of the popularity of these bands overseas but i like Man Man, Deerhunter, Ginger Envelope, Icy Demons to name a few....

HOLV: What can people expect to see when they come to an Elf Power live show?

AR: We are playing a lot of songs from our new record as well as a few songs from all our albums, and some fun cover songs thrown in every now and again. It's a loud, ripping rock show usually.

Thanks and all the best
